The Conference Room Set
One of the most important rooms in our studio is our Conference Room set. The conference room measures in at 13’6”x19’9”, plenty of space for lights and various camera angles. It’s also a great meeting space for workshops, presentations, or private viewings. The conference room contains an 86” projection screen, 8-foot conference table, 6-foot whiteboard, and plenty of seating.
The biggest challenge with this set was the acoustics. When we first moved in, it was certainly the nicest looking room in the suite. It had laminate wood flooring, plaster ceiling, and a chair rail with wood plank on the walls. It was a great look, but the echo in the room was deafening. This created a slight challenge for filming purposes of course.
The easiest way to solve the problem is to add material that would help dampen the echo. We started with a rug, and we just so happened to find a 12’x15’ area rug that had our purple and gold brand colors (it’s really tan, but close enough). That significantly reduced the sound in the room, but we didn’t stop there. We then built custom acoustic panels to hang on the walls. These 1’x4’ panels wrap fabric around acoustic foam and help cut the echo down to almost nothing.
The Conference Room set was recently used in a JCFilms production featuring Hercules himself, Kevin Sorbo. Check out the gallery below.
